Format Requirements

• Manuscripts should be double-spaced and typed in English . Journal of Asian Sociology does not have strict word-count limits, but 5,000-8,000 words are considered to be appropriate. Title Page should present each author’s full name and address for correspondence, including, telephone and facsimile numbers and e-mail address.
• Abstract should be no more than 150 words in length, including the purpose, results and conclusions of the paper and development of your arguments in conciseness.
• Keywords: Authors should list 4-6 keywords or phrases in order of importance.
• Citations 
  1) Pagination follows the year of publication after a comma, with p. between spaces followed by the page number for a single page:
     - According to Boldbaatar and Sneath(2006,p. 299) ...
     - Boldbaatar and Sneath(2006,p. 299) argued ...
     - as mentioned before (Boldbaatar and Sneath 2006,p. 299), ...
  2) Pagination follows the year of publication after a comma, with p. between spaces followed by the page number for multiple pages:
     - According to Kriishan Kumar(2010,pp. 124-128), ...
     - Krishan Kumar(2010,pp. 124-128) argued ...
     - as mentioned before (Kumar 2010, pp. 124-128), ...
  3) For joint authors, give both last names.
     - (Martin and Bailey 1988)
  4) For three authors, give all last names in the first citation in the text; in subsequent citations, use the first name followed by et al..
     - First citation: (Carr, Smith, and Jones 1962)...
     - Later citations: (Carr et al. 1962)
  5) For four or more authors, use the first author's last name followed by et al. in all citations.
     - (Nilson et al. 1962)
  6) When quoting multiple resources, divide them by semi-colons (;), ordered by publication years, or authors' last names, the rule being consistent throughout the manuscript. When quoting multiple resources by the same author, divide them by commas (,).
     - by publication years: (Montgomery and Casterline 1993; Rosero-Bixby and Casterline 1994; Entwisle et al. 1996; Kohler 2001;
       Kohler, Behrman, and Watkins 2001)
     - by authors’ last names: (Abbott 1983, 1995; Gottschalk and Moffitt 1994; Tilly 1997; Western et al. 2012)
  7) If a work cited was reprinted from a version published earlier, list the earliest publication date in brackets, followed by the publication date of the recent version used.
     - Vablen ([1899] 1979) stated that ...
  8) When quoting media articles, italicize the media name, followed by the publication date (Month DD, YYYY).

  5) In the reference list, romanize non-roman language titles, e.g. Korean, Japanese or Chinese, followed by the English translation in brackets.

• Tables and Figures: All tables and figures should be prepared on separate sheets and attached at the end of the paper. Authors should indicate clearly in the text where tables and figures are to be inserted.
• Biographical Sketch: All contributors should provide a biographical sketch in 80 words or less. Biographical sketches must contain authors’ physical address and email address.
